Hi there,

I'm a first year software engineering student and currently wondering if Microsoft Certification helps in getting a job in the future? Besides, I'm quite confuse with the microsoft certificate thingy, Anyone care to elaborate more clearly to me?

I'm more into software and website development,

P.S: If I posted in wrong section, please guide me :) and please pardon my english as it's not first language, hope you understand my question, thanks!

Kind Regards.

In my experience; Employers value MS Certs coupled with experience in the related field as it shows directly that you have the basic knowledge of what they're asking for. There's very many varying levels and fields of the certs tho, so would maybe have a look at something that is directly in line with what you're doing.

I've only seen mostly hardware configuring/support and admin certs tho, not many coding ones except maybe .NET architecture things.

If you have a clear target for what kind of coding you want to do, would suggest looking up job openings on public sites, what their requirements are. Take more than 5 examples and see how they vary?
Often certificates are listed in "pluses" not requirements.

Personally currently doing a CompTIA and the basic MCTS course to get to higher hardware support courses myself.
