Microsoft Edge Black Window after swapping GPU

Hello. I replaced a MSI RX 580 8GB with a Sapphire RX 580 8GB.

Initially I didn't reinstall any drivers and when starting the new MS Edge, I am greeted with a black window. The the links, menu all seem accessible as when rolling over with the pointer I can see the arrow change to a hand and the link location does show up in a white box in the lower left of the window.

I removed the drivers and cleaned them using the AMD cleaner utility from their site. In both safe mode and with the MS basic display driver, Edge works absolutely fine.

I've run a few bench marks using Unigine Superposition and again, all looks well.

Any ideas on next steps?

Have you updated to the new chromium edge?

I did indeed and and was all working well until the new GPU went in. Oddly (or not) Chrome doesn’t behave in the same way.

I’ve put the old card back into the rig and Edge is happy again. Duff card? I’ve another rig that I’m about to try the Sapphire in...

What did you replace the MSI card for? Not much in them two card spec wise.

Quieter (MSI is the armor) and it was a good price (Sapphire refurb with 12 months). The sapphire just kicked the bucket...oh well.

that could have been the issue all along, see if you can get it replaced pronto.

Started the return thanks. Will take it as a sign to wait until for a GPU with a real performance upgrade.

Thanks. I find it odd that it affected the Sapphire and not the MSI.
