Hi does anyone use Excel 2013? A friend recently bought and installed this onto my Dad's computer and my Dad is having all kinds of problems with Excel. The programme will hang/freeze at random when he goes to open a file, save a file use a formula and it's driving him up the wall.

His computer isn't the newest, it's a dual core Pentium z68, 4Gb of ram and an old Radeon X1800XT which I installed so he could use dual monitors.

Any ideas?

If the issue occurs only with Excel, then try opening Excel in safe mode and check. Follow the steps:

In the RUN command, Type Excel /safe (leave a space after Excel) -> Click OK.
If Excel safe works, then follow the steps disable the add-ins:
1. Click on File -> Go to Options.
2. Click on Add-ins -> select an add-in type -> Click Go
3.Uncheck the Add-ins to disable -> Click OK.

If the issue occurs with all the Office applications, then repair the Office 2013 and verify results.
1. Press Windows + R -> type appwiz.cpl -> click OK
2. Select Office 2013 Suite -> Click on Change -> Repair.

I've edited the above, (old Info) I copied and pasted without fully reading through

The only other thing that I know of is HP printer software causing conflicts.
If you have any HP software try removing "ABYYY" bit of software

Yeah it's only Excel running by its self he doesn't have a lot of other software installed. His computer is used for emails, internet and business (spreadsheets, letters etc).
