Microsoft extend E74 warranty

Quality control had better be tighter when they release their next console. Profit margins this time round would have been much larger surely if they hadn't had so many consoles to repair. I wonder if that year release gap between the PS3 and 360 should never have existed.

Probably very worried of a serious lawsuit.. Dont worry they are not doing it out of love... When the 360 first came out they were only giving it 90days warranty in the USA..

They've had plenty of time to fix it but failed for the most part...

I would love to know how many bought a 2nd or more 360 out of fear knowing that their orginal 360 was going to belly up on them sometime or for people not wanting a refurb back or for wanting a bigger HDD so upgrading their old console revisions. Its got to be a good third of overall sales surely?

It would be interesting to know, even a friend of mine who is totally uninformed in these things replaced his old 20gig with an elite recently 'cos they break lots innit'. If the general public even buy replacments/backups, not just geeks such as ourselves, it indicates it could be quite a big trend.

i came back from silverstone this weekend to find a letter with a cheque for £56 in it

totaly forgot they were refunding people who payed for the e74 to be fixed so was a nice suprise

Theres probably nothing wrong with the quality control. You can only quality control components against their initial design and specifications. The design is where the problem has come from.
