Microsoft Flight Simulator X Anything better?

I do like Microsoft Flight Simulator X but I've had it for so long i fancy a change, any recommendations or is it still the best Flight Sim. I use Nvidia surround if that helps. Thanks
 
No...there is nothing better as a pure simulation, there are bazillion of add-on you can download to improve graphic and models and now there is also a STEAM EDITION with improved performance, official online gaming support and hopefully future expansions too...

I fly sim and the real thing and FSX so far is the most accurate :)
 
How much better is the steam version in terms of performance?

I'm still getting fairly average performance with the original FSX, even with a i7 5820k @4.4ghz, 16gb ram and gtx 760.

Apparently they have worked on the code and it is now up to scratch with regards to RAM and CPU usage which were the reasons why it was so slow :)

You can still use all the FSX add-out out.
 
It depends what you want. Simulation, arcade style, fighter planes, helicopters.

FSX is still 'up there' in terms of fidelity.

You'll spends £100s on add-ons, hardware, and stress relaxation.

There is: X-Plane 10, Prepar3d, Digital Combat Simulator, Aerofly FS.

For me, FSX with all my addons and Vatsim is the reason I don't do much else.. :p
 
X Plane 10 has much better performance than FSX...just like FSX its lame without addons.

Anyone got a list of reccomended addons for X Plane?

I looked into this a while ago, there is a package by Aerosoft of a Discus glider but it's getting on a bit and was rather pricy compared to what you can get for your money these days so I didn't bother.
 
Considering its age, FSX is still one of the best out there. The mods that are available for it also improve it greatly although as mentioned they can be pricey but worth it. I am addicted to the Captain Sim C-130.

Also right now a lot of the addon sites actually have sales on for Christmas / New Year so if you are tempted at buying a few things now would be the best time for it.
