Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe

What sort of spec do you need for FSX, to run it smooth with some pretty?

AFAIK its barely possible to run everything at the highest setting on any card. You have to do a lot of tweeking. My system ran at around 75% settings and FPS were around 20 (which is okay of course as its a flight sim..).

Running fine on my system, see sig. But like with most things the more cpu and gfx power yiou can throw at it the better.

One thing to remember it's not like a FPS, 60fps itsn't really needed, though would be very nice.

As for the VFR scenery, I've got the pack from Horizon covering the whole of the England and Wales, which I think vastly improves the game, as you can actually navigate by the scenery detail. It's great flying over your own house/area and recognising the details.

I'm a bit of a junky on this and have loads of adds ons.

Also SP1 is essential if you have a dual core as it gets FSX to utilise both cores, which it didn't before.

This Vfr pack from horizon - does it go blurry when you fly below a set height ? I have a vfr pack from someone else and only looked good high up - other that that it was so blurry it wasnt good - low down and it was one big blur

If yours isnt like that I might look into it - also do you lose all 3d objects , buildings etc

Are you flying a jet or slow prop plane? I found with a jet it draws rough textures, only at slower speeds would it use CPU cycles to draw finer detail (VFR scenery) pic above is from a chipmunk.

No this was an annoying add-on I had that had textures that said on the box and found out for real that they were best at like 1200 feet or something - the greater you went either way the blurrier they got . I wasn't keen on it , also there was no 3d stuff building etc cos of it.
