Microsoft Gold Certificate

Tommy, gold status isn't a certification an individual can achieve. Or at least it is awarded to an MCP (Microsoft Certified Partner) when it reaches a certain standard. Think there is certain requirements that have to be met, for example 4 certified MCSE staff members, be in contact with two other MCPs or have enough Partner points.

Unless you're referring to something different, if you had googled it, you would know all this, which is why you got the sarcastic responses :)

EDIT: Here is the gold requirement, remember you need to have the registered and certified partners requirements before you can do this
  1. [*]Complete the Registered partner steps
[*]Assign key contact roles through the Partner Membership Centre. For help, see the “Program Enrolment and Administration” section in the Program Guide.
[*]Employ or contract with at least two exclusive MCPs or develop at least one tested solution. Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) must enter their names in their profiles exactly as they are displayed at the MCP Member Site. The name is case sensitive.
[*]Attain at least one Microsoft Competency.
    [*]Earn 120 qualifying Partner Points.
[*]Associate Partner Points to your organization’s account in the Partner Membership Centre.
[*]Earning a Microsoft Competency is the easiest way to achieve your desired level in the Microsoft Partner Program. For example, you earn 30 qualifying Partner Points, when you achieve your first Microsoft Competency. As a bonus, you receive 20 additional Partner Points, when you earn your first competency.
[*]Pay the annual Microsoft Partner Program fee.
[*]The program membership term runs for 12 months from the date of enrolment and fee payment. For example, if you enrol in January 2008, your program term will run through January 31, 2009. The entire fee, along with applicable taxes, is due at the time of enrolment. You may pay the annual fee by credit card, check, demand draft, or wire transfer. (Payment methods may vary by country.) Contact your local Regional Service Centre to get information about the fee for your country.

For myself. Ok so when i get the job with the company i can get Gold one thru them?
What MS Certification do you hold already? None im going to assume.
Your company may want to put you on a course to get certified but I doubt it.
9 times out of 10 it will be something you have to put the money and time in for yourself.
Often a specific job can help you understand skills/techniques better for the exams but like I said its rare for a company to willing put you in for certification unless it was of benefit to them.

If you want to do MTA/MCSA yourself then exams are around £100-£200 each, you can get the text books for about £30 a pop, the rest is just raw time.
MS have an online portal that you can access for free that has a lot of tutorial videos on some of the exam topics but you will still need the text books.
Also even if you have knowledge in the area you want to be certified in I advise you do the MTA first as the MCSA are challenging. You wouldnt even think about doing an MCSE unless you were employed FT under that specific skillset.

If your looking at what is relevant anything regarding BI, Cloud or SQL are currently considered decent paths to explore. I wouldn't even bother with Networking/Security unless its a keen interest - the market is already massively saturated with low level positions and there is no real money in it anymore.

Thank you for help i was mistaken now is it clear how it is actualy working.

Yes you right do not have any cert at the moment. I would pay it my self.

So who do you recomend to do the courses with?

I got my MCSA in Windows 10 earlier this year and im currently studying for my MCSA in Server 2016 (passed one exam 6 weeks ago) All done by self studying then booking the exam.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me:)

For a business to get "gold" you have to have a certain amount of qualified employees. But Microsoft like to move goalposts for it, so a lot don't really care about it any more.

Hi Malachi, so i dont need to do MTA first for Win 10? How hard is Mcsa for win 10 whats the topics you have to study for?

Thank you

Nope, I went straight onto studying for the 70-697 first. I found it hard as it was my first MS and it wasn't really focused on Windows 10 but around Office 365, Azure and Intune. Once I passed that I studied for the 70-698 which was actually focused on Windows 10. So I found that one to be easier.

Passing both exams gave me the MCSA in Windows 10.

I think the competency fee is something like $5k a year as well.

The 697 and 698 aren’t too bad, I found it useful to use 2 or 3 different sources for the revision (books, videos and practice tests).
