Is this mouse ok for general gaming?

Building for a mate and he needs everything, so just wondering if this is any good, obviously not uber-l33t pro gaming, just the old CSS/BF2 and so on.

If anyone can recommend anything better it cant be any more really.

Cheers,
Dan

The intellimouse 3.0 is still used by top level competitive gamers today so I'd say its a good choice for your friend.

I have one and i can recommend it. Price wise the only other mouse i can see on OCUK that will match or surpass it is the Razer pro click (to all intents and purposes a white version of the diamond back which I also have and it's also very good, but the colour is obviously not very "gamer") for a few pounds more: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-025-RA&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=3

The intellimouse is a more rest your palm type of mouse and is as such quite big. The razer is a fingertip style mouse and is a lot smaller. Technologically the razer is much more advanced but the intellimouse holds its own. You can't go wrong with either.

I used the Intellimouse for a good while and it's fine for gaming. I do find the Razer great for switching dpi in game, but other than that, the Intellimouse does everything else.

I've had my Intellimouse about 4 years at a guess. It's used everyday and still like new. Never crosses my mind to try another mouse and when/if it breaks, i'll be getting another one.:)
