Microsoft is to end the programme with S4S

Important Notice for S4S Customers!

Today we have an important annoucement for all of our S4S fans in relation to Microsoft products availability.

As many of you know, Software4Students has been offering the best discounts in Microsoft software for students and their parents since 2006.

Over the years, we have been offering discounts of up to 90%, for full versions of Microsoft software. However, Microsoft has recently announced that the programme that was making this possible will come to an end on March 31st, 2012.

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage all those who still do not have Windows 7 or Microsoft Office 2010 installed in their laptops or PCs to take advantage of this last chance to enjoy amazing discounts like the ones below.

That is a pity, a lot of student have enjoyed their support. :eek:

Meh, just buy a technet subscription and you can download any MS product for free for "research" purposes

For basic stuff perhaps, but the real Office is a far better package than any of the alternatives.

It is scary how few PCs there are compared to Macs at my Uni. The only decent blocks of PCs are in the library, where it's half and half, and in the Game Design area, where it's PCs only. Everywhere else is a sea of Macs

Bit of a bummer. Was hoping on getting a nice amount of Windows 8 when it came out :S Looks like that idea might be out of the window...

I'd say on campus about 20% of students use a mac instead of a laptop. Not surprising though, Macbook Airs/iPads are increasingly appealing

The college I worked at used Macs to look good to tours so they would place them in locations where they were seen which meant in awkward locations to actually use. Then about 90% of the students only used them for youtube and facebook lol

this. my girlfriends art uni bought macs because it fitted in expectations when showing people around. all the students actual work was done on their laptops or pc's in the flat.

theres still libre office + open office

Sounds about right. Macs for consumption and Windows for the actual productivity.
