I am looking for a good Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse, I was tempted by the new Wireless Desktop 6000... but maybe you guys have some better ideas (you normally do!)

Thanks.

Does it have to be microsoft? I haven't had very good experiences with microsoft keyboards. They lack the ability to press more than 3 keys down at once which is very annoying in games. The mouse had a tacky build quality as well. This was the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Comfort ver3.0 set.

Logitech on the other hand seem to have a much better build quality and, in my experience, are much nicer to use.

EDIT: The Logitech Ultra X set is meant to be very nice :)

Well if you brought a MS keyboard, then moved to a Logitech later on its proberly likely you got a newer model, and things generally improve in newer models.

I've always used MS kb's and mouses.

I have a Comfort Curve keyboard and a Comfort mouse (both wired), and they are brilliant.

Can pick up both for about £13 or so each. Already converted 2 friends to these keyboards, and i didnt even have to ask them, 2 mins of use on the keyboard and they fell in love.

I will say though, after using keyboard, it makes the other MS keyboards i used in the past look like crap.

If you're going to compare at least compare 2 equal products.

In fairness to MS hardware i can also say i've used a few Logitech keyboards and mouses, they were a pile of poo. I've not used the most expensive Logitech stuff though so it was a unfair assessment, possibly as unfair as the other poster's..... ;)

Actually the logitech keyboards i've tried were older ones than mine and belonged to friends. Also from the general recommendations i've seen on these and other forums, it's logitech that get praised more often for their build quality and ergonomics.

When i RMA'd my microsoft keyboard (as i thought something was wrong with the keys not responding) the member of staff i spoke to at OcUK said himself that they often get RMA's for microsoft peripherals and he personally thinks that they are pap ;)

i have the ms wireless optical desktop 1000 and i thnk its great was quite cheap, but i dont play many games and the ones i do play dont require a lot of use from the keyboard (like pressing 3 buttons at once) so i dont know about that :)

As ironic as it may be, i havnt seen anything but praise for MS hardware.

Google it if you wish....... i take your word for it. I'm not getting into one of those MS / Logi fanboy games, its just pointless.

I tried Logitech, didnt like it, used MS and liked it. My experience....nothing more to it.

Though i think the whole (everyone hates microsoft) thing comes into play when anyone tries to mention them. For me, if its works, and its reliable and nice to use i couldnt give a **** what name is branded on it.

i think ive said this before, but ive had two MS wireless sets (differnet models) and one logitech set.

BOth of the MS sets, along with the gf's MS set, suffered from singnal dropouts and terrible signal range at the best of times. My logitech (s510 media remote) set that im using now is extremely good and really does show up the MS sets.
