Microsoft MCE2005 drivers vs. Windows XP drivers?

Hello,

I am just fine tuning my first MCE2005 build and I am having a few hardware issues I'm not used to. Just to keep things simple I wanted to ask is MCE2005 the same as Windows XP with regards to drivers?

I am trying to get the Cool n Quiet function working under MCE2005 on a multi-core opteron 170 but no joy so far. (My thread about this here)

The drivers I am using state they are for WindowsXP, these should work under MCE2005 right?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I did a good search and couldn't really find an answer!

Yep, it's exactly the same.

They took XP Pro SP2, bolted on the Media Center application, changed a few bits of branding to Media Center Edition and disabled the domain joining functionality.

Everything that works on XP Home and XP Pro should work fine.

make sure cool'n'quiet is enabled in the bios too

but yes, they use the same drivers

some gfx card drivers are tweaked a bit for mce, besides that all xp drivers will work fine
