The new feature, called MixView, puts a single album, artist or Zune user at the centre of the screen and surrounds it with related items. This allows you to start on an artist and instantly find related bands.
This little 'feature' for the Zune software looks absolutely brilliant - and more importantly leaves the Apple equivalent standing. The catch ATM seems to be that:
a) You have to subscribe to the Zune system ($15pm)
b) It's not available in the UK

Seems that MS are really dropping the ball on this one. At the moment they have what is a real killer feature (I've been desperate for something like this for ages) but are massively reducing their market segment through draconian self-imposed limitations. Why on earth haven't they opened this up as a plug-in upgrade to WMP 11? Even if they do want to protect their Marketplace to ensure track sales, they could still pass ads/recommends for online music as an extra - entice you in while serving up linked playlists from your music collection.
Seems odd that it was originally going to be a free feature available to everyone, but at release it has been restricted to US based Zune Pass holders only
Anyone know why MS have take this rather short sighted approach with what could be a real winner of a toy?
