Anyone using this as I'm looking for some software that I can get a better picture on our finances etc.

I used to use it, and found it very bloated. I now just have an excel spreadsheet with 1 month per page. 4 columns. In, Comments, Out, Comments.

Its so easy and simple. You might find that easier. It also totals to the bottom of the page incomings, outgoings and difference between. An update on the first sheet automatically updates across the year.

Mmm interesting. I heard that MS Money hooked into on-line accounts and that was an interesting potential

It does download from your on-line account. I would'nt call 42.6mb "bloated" either. It's one of the better offerings from Redmond as far as i'm concerned, it does what it says on the tin.

How does the download work, as I bank with Halifax etc. Or do you have to download the files from your bank and import them into Money? For £29 it can't be bad?

When you first run it after the install, it runs you through a series a wizzards to set everything up. It has all the on-line banks in it's database. So once you tell it who you are with, when you want to get your current status it takes you to your bank. You log in as normal, download your statement, it's then imported into Money automaticaly. You can have as many accounts as you want, even your credit cards can be managed from it as well. £29 is good value, but you can find it a lot cheaper. Even at retailers in your local retail park :D

I use MS Money and I have to say that without it I would have probably lost my house and car a long time ago :D

I love the forcasting tool it has so I can input all my bills into it and then it will tell me how much money I should have left at different intervals and how much I can save.

I use money 2007 and there is only a US version available and microsoft have said that they will not make a UK version.

I bank with halifax but you can still download your statements into money from their website. Money will just not connect to them automatically like they used to in the UK version.

When you say "Version", are you talking about the download version ? Because i use the UK retail version and it works in the same way that all the previous versions have worked with no probs whatsoever.

Hmmmm when I was looking around for money 2007 uk version I was told there wasnt one. It was suggested to me that Money 2005 was the last uk version. So I bought the us version instead.

Looking at it now, you may well be correct. I was using 2005 and then swapped to 2007. But i suspect that my money file itself may have held my bank connection details. Off course when i swapped i just carried on using my 2005 money file in 2007.

For anyone that wants to use 2007, an answer might be to use 2005 to set up and then use 2007 to run the file.

Might have to look into this again as immenient house purchase coming and the desire for an S3 or MK4 R32 before Le Mans next year

Ms money is great, yep it can download statements, or you can download a statement from your on-line account then import it into ms money. It's a very very good program once it's set up. Just a shame I didn't listen to what it said, so I gave up using it.
