Microsoft .net Framework 3.0 problem

I've got microsoft windows xp professional sp3 and I'm trying to install my nokia nseries pc suite but it gives me the option to install .net 3.0 which fails and therefore I cant install pc suite. Is there a problem with .net 3.0 and xp pro or does anyone know if I'm missing a file to get this installed properly?

Install latest .NET from Microsoft first...

i think i'd initially downloaded a wrong version from the site. Downloaded and managed to install v3.0 sp1 and now got pc suite installed as well. Thanks
