microsoft .net framework v2 ok with catalyst 6.4?

can anybody tell me before i attempt my latest format if the new microsoft .net framework version2 is ok to use with the new catalyst 6.4. having previously used the .net framework 1.1 i just want to be sure before i start.

Also a big thanks to all who post in the forum, the wealth of knowledge here has helped me no end to transform from comlete noob to a fairly confident user, and this is the first time ive ever had to post so big thanks everyone

Catalyst are graphics drivers ain't they? .NET doesn't interfere with anything like that. Infact .NET doesn't really interfere with anything. Install it, it will be fine.

.Net is required for the Catalyst Control Centre to run (Ati drivers). It is fine install away

Correct but I presume the OP means the ATI CCC which does need .net. I don't bother with the CCC version of the Catalysts because I don't like the control panel design. I just use the drivers only version and ATI Tool.

sorry yes i did mean the ATI CCC, i use it as its a quick way of keeping an eye on my graphics card temp as welln as overclocking. I had problems with ati tool on my new card and as i have an x1900xt

i dont get a huge overclock and often dont bother at all. thanks for your replys.

Yes, the 6.4 drivers (with CCC) do work with the .Net 2.0 framework, as I've just installed both.

i dont know why everyone's scared of .net its not as if it adds LOADS of crap on your pc, its just a base for newer better programs!

I'm not scared of .net as such but I just don't like the ATI CCC that needs .net. I just really hate the interface and how I have to faff around looking for the AA/AF settings. I find using the drivers only and ATI Tool a much more pleasant experience and easier.

ok but ive now read that you also need to instal .net 1.1 aswell, is this true? or can i just use .net version2 on its own with the catalyst 6.4?

Well the links on ATI's site point to .net 1.1 on MS's site but I think .net 2.0 is backwards compatible.
