We announced today that Office 2008 for Mac will be released to manufacturing (“RTM”) this December, which will allow for retail availability in the US in mid-January (planning for Macworld), and allow us to deliver Office 2008 to our volume license customers and global customers in the first quarter of 2008.

****. I was looking forward to this being released at the same time as Leopard.

Typical Microsoft ;)

Not too fussed on this as I've got NeoOffice (which does the job), but it would have been nice to see what they've improved

Q1Y08 is management speak for March next year..

Personally I believe that MS see Office being the only reason business people see functional value in their platform. If they release it to the mac then MS weakens the sales message for their OS. Not that this would be a problem but currently businesses are staying away from Vista in droves atm due to the high cost vs low benefit.

I'll definately have a look at Office'08 however if MS release mac:Visio it would would also be high on the list too.

I currently use NeoOffice but the integration between word/excel/visio etc is much better in my opinon.
