microsoft office 2008 hassle

Switcher here; sorry.

I've loaded up Office 2008 onto 10.5 and the spelling and grammar options are greyed out in prefs
Anyone know why....pretty please.

Sounds like your dictionnary is corrupted. Try removing Office and installing it again.

EDIT: had a look around and it is a corruption of your preference files.

How did you sort it out of interest?

Realized it must have been because i'd done a short install in the first place - left out stuff like the tools and converters. had a clean up with Onyx and reinstalled office 2008 from scratch.
install was very fast as it recognized what modules were already there and just installed what was missing.
after install i trashed messenger and excel as i never use them and the dictionaries and spellchecker are now working fine. thank god, i'm an author! i certainly need a spellchecker!
