Microsoft Office 2011 - Issue

Right, this may be quite as stab in the dark as it seems to be one of those unexplainable errors which I hoped moving over to MAC would make them disappear evidently not.

Now when I open Microsoft Word, it opens fine but when closing it crashes, i cannot re open and I always have to force quit, this does not happen on Power Point, Excel and so on.. now I have done a whole reinstall, deleted the libary files etc, the same Copy of Office is working fine on my MBP, currently on the IMAC if that makes any odds.. Hope anyone can help as I dont feel safe with word when producing large word documents now! cryyy
 
Are you running the most up to date copy of Office 11? Do a check for updates as there have been several stability fixes.
 
I have just created a clean install on my MBP installed Lion on my iMac and it seems fine.. so I think I was just trying to avoid the clean install but I mean pretty strange to as why It was doing that.
 
Uninstalling office 11 is a pig. There are files stored all over the system so if you don't catch them all and reinstall over the top you may experience the same problems as before.

And pay special attention to each step especially as some files aren't shown simply browsing to the specified folder but require using the go to folder feature such as:

/private/var/db/receipts

That's the main reason I won't install Office 2011 on a Mac, even though I can get it very cheaply through work. I had a previous version on some time ago but it was so difficult to get rid of it when I wanted to remove it. I really don't like applications which are OS X unfriendly.
