I bought this mouse for my work machine because I have the same mouse at home and it has such a nice smooth scrolling. As in the slightest movement of the scroll wheel translates to 1 line of text being scrolled on the screen. It is great for web surfing, e-mails or anything involving lots of text.

However having installed one on my work machine the scroll wheel is nothing like that. In fact if I move it very slowly it translates to no movement what so ever on screen. I have to scroll it very quickly to make it do anything and when it does it comes in one giant lump of about a 1/4 page of movement! Ridiculous.

The machine is running the IntelliPoint 6.1 drivers.

Any ideas folks? I've tweaked and tweaked all the scrolling settings but nothing seems to give me the crystal clear precision like on my home machine. What gives? :(

You've definately tried all the settings to increase/decrease vertical scroll speed ?

I have never used that mouse, but does the wheel 'click' when you press it ? This changes the scroll on a lot of mouses i have used ( mainly logitechs, but on others aswell )

Only other thing i can suggest is just use the wheel a lot. :D The more it gets worn in, it might change.

Sorry i can't really help becuase i don't have one. :(

The scroll wheel is completely "click"-free. Just like my one at home. It's a high DPI scroll wheel but the drivers just don't seem to be working correctly.

E.g. for every 10 scroll pulses sent from the mouse, it moves the screen about 10 lines. At home it is more like, for every 1-2 pulses, it moves the screen about 1 line!

its luck of the mouse tbh m8, remove the drivers and re install them for some reason the microsft mouse is funny like that.. before you install the drivers again go in mouse properties and try and set the mouse up without the drivers then once installd it should be fine

You're a star!

Uninstalled the drivers. Looked in Mouse settings and set the scroll rate rate to "3 lines". Then reinstalled drivers and now its crystal smooth as I would expect from this mouse :D
