My mates business runs on Microsoft Outlook v10 but he's had a new system built with XP Professional and thety installed Office V11 for him.
Outlook looks completely different and unuseable and I know where he's coming from because I had the same problem at work.
He uninstalled V11 and installed his older V10 but when running Outlook it says that it can't find his default internet folders and loads in a file manager.
On the File menu there is no IMPORT AND EXPORT so that he can load his outlook.pst file.
There isn't even an OPTIONS or ADDRESS BOOK on the TOOLS menu.

Anybody know whats going on here?

Does it continue to do it with a fresh profile?

Failing that, you could try copying the pst files from his profile folder, nuking his Outlook user settings, deleting the default profile and creating a new one.

Imo though, Outlook 2003 is far more robust and has a more user-friendly interface than Outlook 2002, but thats just personal preference :).

Yeah, get him to kill the outlook profile, then when outlook is next run, it will create a new .pst in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Once its done that, you can overwrite it with the .pst file he wants to keep and relaunch outlook.

I'm suprised he found Outlook 11 unusable though. IME it is a lot more stable, expecially coping with large PST files. I know it looks a bit different to begin, but if you move the reading pane to the bottom and customise the toolbar, you can make it look the same as Outlook 9/10.

Good luck anyway :)

Thanks boys.

Just done it by Remote Assistance.
Went into MAIL, PROFILES, OUTLOOK, DATA FILES and changed the properties to look for his PST file and all is tickety boo.

Gascare is up and running again.
