Microsoft Points & USA Account

Im curious to know if anyone has tried a UK 2100 gamer point code with a USA account and had no problems?

Are Microsoft Points regional?

HDTV Episodes are approx 240 points (approx £2)
Hi Def Movie Rentals in HD 720p are approx 480 points. (approx £4)

Well i know very few here maybe have different region accounts on 360

My curiousity has got the better of me and I think ive got my own answer for obtaining the HDTV and Movies content from a USA account on a UK X360.

According to Microsoft offical 360.com website.

"Microsoft Points purchased from a retail store can only be applied to accounts registered to the same country where the retail store is located. The only exception is the 2100 point card (available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), which is universal throughout those regions."

Looks like anyone wanting to do this will have to try and obtain USA Live Points on ebay or import them.

Yeah was thinking of doing this myself, I have some friends in the states who I could buy points and have them delivered to their address, then they just email me the code. Sadly not "exception is the 2100 points card"

The americans as far as I can tell from looking at US stores sell points in 1600. So they know we can buy 1600 here so they have region locked them by way of numbers.

Yeah thats what i was checking.
Ebay has 1600 points for sale though and will import to UK no problem Aas you say all we need is the code. Also bound to be some online stores that sell games etc would export/import to UK.

Free TV episode of "Ballrun" basically a Cannon Ball Run Reality TV show which is quite good funny too.

Going to possibly look into getting the 1600 gamerpoints but their is no reason why downlloads will not work with them.
