I've not looked into it much, but some people are claiming it's brilliant and is one of the best free AV's out there. So is it better than what I currently use? Avast AV...

Cheers

I've been impressed with MSE, small footprint, doesn't hog resources and no annoying popups - no idea how it compares to other brands with regard to detection though.

I would stick with Avast.
Not worth the change tbh.

It is worth the change. I made the move from AVAST after 4-5 long years on it (and other packages in between).

The increasing number of definition update false positives marking Windows files as suspect then bricking the Windows install in 3rd party apps alone is one reason to stick 1st party.

That and the fact that MSE is actually very good!

Also, FYI, uninstalling AVAST and installing MSE is a total of 1 reboot.

Well I'm not using it as I got a virus while using it. It would detect part of the virus but would not, could not fix it. But that was a while ago maybe it is better now.

I'm using Avast, it has a few more scanners(and a faster scanner, I'm pretty sure) and options than MSE did.

I use Comodo, and I find it's far better than MSE. ;)
