I like the look of the Sidewinder X Keyboard but am hooked on the facilities of the Logitech G15 (original with 18 macro keys).

I know this may sound slightly mad but I wondered if it would be possible to attach two of the number pads to the keyboard at the same time with one operating in macro mode and the other in Number mode?

I appreciate it would mean buying two keyboards to get the parts.

If anyone has two of these keyboards and would be willing to give it try I would be most grateful. Likewise I would appreciate any thoughts on the idea.

do you mean, remove the macro-keys from the G15 and insert them into the X6?

no, without replacing the microcontroller in the keyboard with a new one it isn't possible.

Sorry, I probably didn't explain things very well. The G15 is my current keyboard and I was thinking of replacing it with the X6.

The X6 has a detachable number pad that can be attached to either the left or the right of the main keyboard. Those that want a normal number pad attach it to the right of the keyboard. Those that want to use it for gaming or for other purposes can attach it to the left of the keyboard and switch it to macro mode.

What I wanted to know is if I were to buy two X6 keyboards whether I could canabalise them to create a single "super" keyboard by attaching the number pad from one to the right of the main keyboard and the number pad from the other to the left.

The idea being that I would be able to use the two number pads at the same time - the one on the left in Macro mode and the one on the right in Number pad mode.
