is my isp (enta) at fault or are microsoft sites really offline (more likely to be the former. i can't see MS being knocked offline.

We are aware of the situation, and it now appears to be resolved. It seems there was a temporary loss of connectivity or possibly a routing loop occurring within the Teleglobe network. As traffic from our network to the Microsoft sites was being routing across the Teleglobe network, a significant portion of our users were affected. The situation now appears to have been resolved by Teleglobe and connectivity is restored.
