Weren't Microsoft forced to share their source code at some point by a court hearing?

I remember hearing something about that. What would that effect?

not that im aware but some of the win xp source code was leaked and avalible on some of the dodgyer websites

There is a bit on the Microsoft site where you can get access (at a cost I think) to the source, I'll see if I can find it.
