Microsoft Research has made available a language translation agent for Messenger.
To access it, you add [email protected] to your contacts, then if you chat to the bot (Tbot on your contacts list), it will reply with the translation.
If you invite the Tbot into a conversation, it can translate between you and someone else. For example, one person could chat in English and the other in German.
Tbot commands (type these in a convo with the bot):
TBot lang - Show the current language pair
TBot change - Select translation languages
TBot stop - Stop translations
TBot start - Start translations again
TBot set - Set your preferred language
TBot ? - Show this list of commands
