Anyone got any experience with this?

At the minute we've just got a standard keyboard and a usb mouse with a broken scroll wheel. I'm looking to upgrade at the end of the week. I've played Skyrim pretty well with the current peripherals. Also, the rest of the family will be using the peripherals so it'd help if they were resistant to knocks and bangs etc.

On a bit of a limited budget, since I need to pick up a decent office chair too. Let's say no more than £40 for the pair.

I'd like the option of playing FPS games to a reasonable standard, if/when I get one.

I had the 1000 and IMHO, best wireless KB and mouse Ive owned for the price (paid £20 from a highstreet retailer). Bought it in Novemeber 2010 and its still on the original batteries, it was used daily on my gaming rig for 9 months.

One bad it is, it wont let you press a key for a prolonged period of time (so walking forward on Skyrim gets annoying) if the batteries are below 25%.

I used a Microsoft Wireless 1000 and Wirless 6000 on a regular basis for a few years. They were both excellent all rounders.

As stated their are some issues with prolonged key presses when under 25% battery (more noticeable on the 6000) but other than that I thought they were both very nice bits of kit for the money.

I have since upgraded to a Logitech Performance MX and K750 Solar keyboard however and the difference is night and day. This is however reflected in the price difference ;)

For the money the Microsoft Wireless sets are pretty good value for money IMO.
