Right, just compiled all my work for my Uni course into one file so everything can have the correct Page Number as well as being in the Contents.

I broke up pages to make them Landscape rather than Portrait so i could add some more images for the work.

Completed, saved and then went to add Page Numbers, sorted......but is it.

Looked through my work only to see where i broke the pages up, each landscape page starts at the number 1 - Displayed Page number as: Page 1 of 20.

Starting to get on my wick as i cant seem to find a way to link each page together without losing the breaks, is there anything possible that i am missing? tearing my hair out here!

Any advice would be great.

Cheers in advance.

It would be useful if you posted the answer. Otherwise someone will inevitably find this thread from searching and curse you for not posting the answer :p.

Answer!!!

So you have several breaks in your document, and your Page Numbers reset back to 1 out of (...). What you need to do is this.

Go to add Page Numbers, header or footer, it doesn't matter, and then go to the page with the broken section, so its page number will not follow on from the previous page.

Once you have done that, go back up to the Page Number button on the toolbar at the top, and click it, then go towards the bottom of the drop menu and click Format Page Numbers.

Then simply click your mouse inside the header/footer with the page number in on the broken page and click "continue from previous section" in the little screen that had appeared.

Job Done!

Seems easy enough to do, but i had my hair out searching for a fix for about an hour and a half, and this took me less than 3 minutes to do.

Hope this helps those who get stuck like me :).

oh Microsoft.

I love Office but some of their decisions are just baffling some times, the hoops you have to jump through to do some things. :(

still own Office 2010 Professional though :D
