OK, i am working in Word at the minute and am having a nightmare with page numbers!!!

The pages go 1, 2, 3 and 4, no problems there. But when i number my annexes:

A1 - 1
A1 - 2
A1 - 3
A1 - 4

Each Annex comes out A1 - 1 (or whatever i change the last digit too).

How can i make the annex numbers run in sequence?!

have an 8 page document

Pages 1 - 4 are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4

The remaining pages should be numbered:

A1 - 1
A1 - 2
A1 - 3
A1 - 4

but the last four pages kepp coming out as A1 - 1

Better? Or still still clear as mud?! lol!

Word 2003

As for how am i adding the numbers. It was how the doc was passed over to me.

The first 4 pages read

1 - 1
1 - 2
1 - 3
1 - 4

If i change these numbers it does not effect the annexes and vice versa.

Am i better deleting them all and starting the page number saga from scratch?!

You need to divide your document into sections using page breaks and then deselecting "same as previous section" for the footer.

I can't remember now where everything is in Word 2003 so maybe someone else can explain it better but the outline is there.

ah! WHen you click on the header and footer:

On the first 4 pages you get "footer section 1"
And on the Annexes "footer section 2"

Cool, how the **** do you edit different footers!?!

argh!!! When i click format, bullets and numbering, numbered. It automatically adds a "1" to each of the remaining 4 pages; the numbers do not run 1 - 4.

Why?!!!
