hey,

just wondering if anyone can help - I'm filling in this form:

http://www.sunderland.gov.uk/public/editable/themes/online/jobsonline/form4.doc

there is a personal statement section which seems to have a character count / lock on it. I simply cannot fit what I need in there! it says if you cant fit it in, go onto another page, only the application is by email only! I don't want to attach a seperate doccument to an email!

there is more than enough space in the box, just when I get half way through typing, it will not go any further!

is there a way to remove the word count?, or change it somehow? or even add an additional page inbetween the statement page and the one below?

hurry hurry!! :)

Rick

What version of Word are you using?

In 2007:
click on the Developer tab,
protect document,
restrict formatting and editing,
stop protection

You should then be able to edit it to your heart's content.

If you can't see the developer tab then turn it on by clicking the round ball at the top left, then word options.

Hey mate, no it's not version 2007. it's 2002 (office XP) I have access to 2003, too...

Just downloaded the form on my girlfriends desktop nywhere from Uni, it has version 2007, with the developer tab but the system wont allow for it to be used because of some kind of plug in or license install. then again I never saw an option for 'stop protection' only ticked entries, which when you try to untick prompt the licence install.

is there a way to do it on 2002 or 2003?

Thanks so far mate, please get back to me lol!!
