Microsoft Word Templates - For Group Project

Hi,

I'm currently doing a group project at University. This is equivalent to a dissertation... On the MEng course students do a group project/dissertation in the 3rd year and individual project/dissertation in the fourth year.

I have been tasked to produce some form of template for the group to use. At the moment everybodies drafts are in different fonts/layouts/formatting/etc.

I would like a method that will ensure each group members work is identical in style/layout so that all word can be simply copied and pasted into one document without lots of effort at the last moment.

If anybody could advise the best way of doing this I would be very thankful. Is a template the best method? If so, any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks :)

I've created form based population of word documents but its a bit of a headache tbh.

Best way is to probably formulate a template and protect the bits that do not need to change.

Do you have any examples, so I can see where I'm headed with it?

Until today I'd never even used styles to a large extent... It seems these alone will be useful however it requires that group members use them properly (Something that cannot be 100% trusted, unfortunately!).
