I was thinking today, i had to create something for a website I instantly jumped to notepad,

i then thought of the alternatives that id have to use on other Operating systems, i use (Fedora,OSX,Vista,XP)

I feel that Microsoft's Most Well made Application is:
Notepad:

Reasons:
it can do pretty much anything,
web Languages
Program Languges
Notes - DUH!
lists
Edit OS files

Would would you say about this? think there is a better one?:D

I think you're confusing 'most well made' with 'most useful'. :p

Not really sure which would be the most well made application they make. Their applications are usually of a pretty decent standard in general but I think they have trouble doing 'polish' on their software in particular.

I always liked the look of Windows Media Center but never had an experience which made its configuration process a worthwhile one. That in turn led me to look at alternatives.

Microsoft Security Essentials :) I ditched Kaspersky for it. I know I know, but I like it and it is not intrusive in the slightest.

There are probably lots of interpretations of "well made", and while it's not without its flaws, I'd have to say the Office suite in general.

Windows deployment services, it's a god send, never had a single issue with it, easy to configure and well documented.

Does that count as an application? :p

Word 2007, and Office 2007 in general. Very powerful, yet also intuitive to use.

Notepad is okay, but gets replaced by Notepad++ on my machines since it's so basic.

I'd have to go with Microsoft Security Essentials. It's simple to use, it doesn't bother you every two minutes and it makes me feel better knowing that it was made by the same people that made the Operating System. Not sure why that makes me feel better, it just does, knowing that it's a first party app. :)
