Mid 2012 MacBook Pro battery / HDD

How hard is it to change them? Any advice on brands?

I got an old MacBook Pro from a friend in really good condition, with i7, 8gb ram. Only downsides is the battery is showing "Replace soon" and doesn't hold charge as well as it should, and it has a mechanical drive.

If I change these, it would be a great little machine still.

Incredibly easy. Any 2.5" SSD will work - 5 min job to change it and the battery.

While you're in there, it would be worth swapping out the superdrive for another 2.5" ssd because it's 2019.
