I have just installed all the parts in my new pc (fist self-build).
Following the 'system build guide' on this forum.

I am now connecting power cables and there is no pci-e 6-pin slot on the graphics card.
However there seems to be a 2-pin slot, though i don't know what its for.
There is also no 4-pin plug on the mobo. (msi-770-c45)

My graphics card is the saphire 4350 512mb (does it need a power cable?).
Also if i've made a mistake and plug it in, will that damage it?

Thanks in advance!!!

The only consequence of not plugging in a power cable, is that it might not boot or the device won't work until the power is connected. Low powered graphics card do not usually need a power cable, and the 4, 6 or 8 pin ATX (often called P4) connector is not always required, this purely comes down to the motherboard design and requirements.

Thanks for quick reply!

In the instruction manuel for the graphics card it says to install:
1. Insert firmily into pci slot
2. Plug display cable into vga card

What is a display cable, it didn't come with one, is that what the 2-pin slot is for.

The 2 pin slot on the card, im purely guessing without seeing it, will be for the coolers fan, so if its a passivly cooled card then there will be no fan.

Its a low end card, so will run of the pci-e slots power.

About the 4 pin power slot, its hiding (sneaky little thing) ringed in the pic below.

The display cable means the one from ur monitor into the back of the card, on the outside of the case, the 2 pin connecter i mentioned above, don't worry about it.

the display cable is the lead from card to monitor
