Hi, my apologies if anything in this post (location, content) is in an inappropriate way, this is my first post and I'm certainly a bit of a noob when it comes to computers. I know a bit but not too much. It's also probably a bit long so feel free to skip the other info if you know the best answer to my question.

Where is a good place to sell a brand new laptop with extremely minimal defects e.g. (screen has a tiny speck of discoluoration in the centre - less than mm - which can only be seen when there is grey colours projected), (couple of minor scratches) in the UK? Is my best bet some website or to go into a store in person and try to haggle? I'd like to avoid some place like CEX or Cash Converters since it's such a pricey laptop...

Other info -

I purchased an ASUS Rog Strix 17'' gaming laptop from Amazon in January 2022. Model No - G713QR. It was listed at a pricey £1,899.00. Perhaps it would have been cheaper elsewhere but I rushed into buying it after receiving a bonus from work as I was in dire need of an upgrade and watched a few videos recommending this laptop. I bought it mainly for music production but I do play games sometimes. It works flawlessly for the level of music production I need for home use and it's pretty killer for most games but underperforms with some lag on the newer high end games which is another reason I'm reconsidering my purchase, I'd like a laptop to last.

The main point of my post though... some unforeseen life things have thrown my plans way off course and I think I'm going to need to sell it and rebuy a new laptop or desktop in a couple of months. It's surely out of warranty for a return and full refund by now, I think they said it would be able to be returned after just 21 days for full refund on one of the 3 different returns notes they sent with the laptop. It was shipped from the USA and I got a whole cluster**** of manuals, warranty info and something from Taiwan of all places about warranty too. The Asus website is confusing as all hell but I've contacted their support team just in case.

My best guess is to wait for a response from ASUS and then probably sell it online if they won't take it back but please give your thoughts about how I can get the closest to retail price on it. Preferably without waiting too long to sell it as I need the money now. I am happy to wait up to a month to get it sold.

Ebay & facebook marketplace.
Specify local pickup only, cash (bank transfer) on collection.
Find out what warranty it has. A new laptop should have a minimum of a year if not longer. This is a good selling point so look into it.

Thanks for the help. SOOO many scammers....

I put it up on Ebay Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree. Didn't specify local pickup and got a plethora of scammers, luckily I have my head screwed on and wont accept anything except instant transfer via paypal when sending it via post, as they have both buyer and seller protection. I took some videos just in case someone tries to dispute something as faulty, broken or missing.

If I've gotten more messages from scammers and no legit interest for a few more days, I'll specify local pickup only. It's crazy the lengths people will go to try and hoodwink you. But really, I don't see how people fall for it in this day and age unless you're old and never use the internet, I saw it coming a mile away.

I'm no expect but I expect it's just a numbers game. Try to scam everyone on the free selling sites and you'll find that 1% that fall for it.
Same as the phone scams, the text message scams about parcels awaiting collection etc. The scammers don't care about all the people that see through it, they care about the few that don't.
