Mid-range GFX card for 1920 x 1200?

Ive always paid around £400 once a year to get the best card available each time Ive upgraded my PC, however on the previous occasion I bought a 7900GT which really suprised me at how much bang for the buck a mid-range card could give.

Im running 2GB RAM and a 6600 C2 DUO, what DX10 mid-range card around £200-£250 would give me smooth gameplay at 1920 x 1200 resolution?

Or do I really need to wait a bit longer and go for a £400+ card?

An 8800GTS 640Mb should do ok, it's a pretty big step up from a 7900GT.

Agreed, pretty much the best card you can get in that range

Yeah either get the 8800 GTS 640MB or the Radeon HD2900xt they are roughly the same price and roughly the same performance right now any way.

The nvidia card however is a bit more mature, but that might also mean that the performance on the 2900 will increase so it might end up being faster than the 8800.
