So Middlesbrough will be hosting it's annual free festival on 3rd June, This festival has hosted many of todays top groups before they were 'famous', including the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, The Thrills, The Editors, Razorlight, Kasabian so on and so forth.

This years lineup is as follows....

Tony Christie / The Twang / The Dub Pistols featuring Terry Hall / Dykeenies / Drive by Argument / The Envy Corps / Elliot Minor / Newton Faulkner / The Films / Foals / The Ghost of a Thousand / Good Shoes / The Hours / I was a Cub Scout / KUBICHEK! / Amy MacDonald / Lucky Soul / Malpractice / Mancini / Mayor McCa / Middleman / Miss Conduct / One Night Only / Pama International / Priestess / Ripchord / Steriogram / Tiny Dancers / To My Boy / We Start Fires / Yourcodenameis:Milo / Flood of Red / St Vincent / Unkle Bob / Ross Copperman /

There are 6 stages, the main one being the 96.6 TFM stage, from the last couple of times i've been it's been a great crack, especially if the weather is nice.

I'll be going and probs spending the whole afternoon there as the twang aren't on till 9.10pm and i want to see them. If anyone is interested in meeting up then give me a shout on here and we'll arange an OcUK meet.

For more information on this years event, go to http://www.middlesbroughmusiclive.co.uk.

Look forward to being there :)

I'll be going. Trying to swap a shift around at work though otherwise it will only be for the evening.

Is it true theres no outdoor drinking this year? If so I don't really see the point lol.

no, there's plenty of bars etc but you can't bring your own beer in, which in a way is a good thing, stops all the drunk charvas spoiling it :D

ive been told itl be the same as last year.

they fenced of the main tfm stage thing near the courts/bottle/art gallery and had people on the gates stopping you walking into that arena with bottles

they where giving plastic cups and stuff out to pour your drinks into before confiscating them so im assuming the only reason they did it was to stop people throwing cans and bottles.

never had any problems walking round the streets with drink :o

hmm now that ive seen taking your own drink is definetly not allowed im counting on the weather

pure shame because the last few years this festival has just been a big excuse to drink on the streets listenig to music all day :p :(

My friends band, Massacre on Broadway, will be playing there on the Tees Music Alliance stage at 6pm so I may pop along as I haven't seen them for a while.

Just a few pics from the day, done with a k750i

OK crappy pic but they were good, Nine Lives For Skydives. Chatted to the bassist for a few minutes later on he was a sound bloke.

The Lurios, they had a bit of a stage invasion after some crowd surfing but it was all kept in hand.

The Twang, they really got the crowd going at the end of the day :)

see those girls on shoulders next to the tree, i was in front of those for the twang.

other bands i liked were small white light in the empire and one at TMA at 4ish - can't emeber name but they are in my guide downstairs, was a good day over all :)

on another note, don't you think the twang were a bit big headed?, i know they'd just found out they'd reached no.8 in the charts but to come on stage, fag in mouth and ****** and blinding, i thought was a bit OTT considering there were kids there still too. Infact, it kinda put me off the band.

I do get what you mean but it was after 9 mate and that's their act. I had a daughter there too but what was said on the stage was nothing compared to the conversations going on around me all day tbh.

They did seem to like Middlesbrough a bit too much though :)

whats not too like about middlesbrough :p

i ended up going down town early on since the weather was good , spent most my time catching up with mates i hadn't seen for a while in bars :o

did catch the dub pistols and the twang (cant remember much of there set ?) at the end though.

So that Twang pic should be renamed as the "Official OcUK Middlesbrough Music Live Festival almost a meet.jpg" :p

I think The Twang just did their EP songs and added a new one for their set.

I went to every stage at some point but stayed at the courtyard the longest.

Nah they were on the 10 feet tall stage. That was in the Town Hall courtyard I really meant the court area (the two stages near the courts). I was watching Beep Beep Yeah at the time. I did go back to the Town Hall Courtyard for Kubichek! and the Dykeenies. They were a bit dissapointing tbh.
