I am wanting to buy a Socket 2011 motherboard and it needs an E-ATX case. After having a look around online I can find full tower cases that will take an E-ATX case but full tower for me is way too big and bulky.

Can you get midi tower cases that take E-ATX motherboards? If so, any recommendations?

Thanks!

most cases will take eatx as long as there is some room beside the notmal atx board, it will just take up some of the cable management space (covers the holes) although some corsair cases like the 400/500r will not take eatx because of the sunken motherboard tray

I was thinking of the Fractal Design Define R3 Black Pearl Mid-Tower case with the
Gigabyte G1.Assassin 2 S2011 or the Asus Rampage IV Extreme X79 S2011 motherboard.

Is there enough space in this case to accomodate these mobos?

I have the r3, and I think they may fit, although you'll probably not be able to get something like the 24 pin through the cable grommets, but maybe around the outside of the motherboard tray :)

It may say E-ATX, but its not quite that big,

Form Factor E-ATX Form Factor; 30.5cm x 26.4cm

A true E-ATX board is actually EATX (Extended) 30.5 × 33.0

So as you can see its only 2cm wider than a normal ATX board which is 30.5 X 24.4cm

The screw mounting holes are also in the same place as a ATX board, so many ATX cases will fit it, if they have cable mounting holes along near the side of the motherboard these tend to be half covered up by the edge of the PCB.
