Not sure what to make of it

I like WW2 films but this looks like another Pearl Harbour rather than a decently done film like SPR or Letters from Iwo Jima, hopefully they do it justice as it was one of the more important battles in the Pacific theatre

Yeah if it didn't have the silly love story, it would have been one of Michael Bay's better films as the combat and fx was well done for its time

I really liked the "Flags of our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima" duo for telling the same story from both sides and no shying away from the brutality of the pacific war.

This, I like that the Japanese version of the battle was told, much like Downfall it's rare we see films told from the perspective of the losers and told as factually as possible
