Midweek Football Thread - 18th/19th

Carrick's always been a pen taker I thought (not necessarily first choice), I was thinking earlier today who would take pens for MU (got Rooney in FF team) and figured it might be him.
Players at MU I'd be happy seeing take a pen:

Scholes.
Carrick.
Rooney.
Owen.
Giggs.

For some reason Rio seems to fancy himself from the spot as well, you often see him stepping forward in shootouts.

No not doooooooom ;)

But its the same story EVERY SINGLE TIME he picks a side like this, Anderson cant play on the wing, he never has been able to, he's not a winger, or a central midfielder, he is an attacking midfielder who plays in behind the strikers.
Park is ****, always has been always will be.
Giggs had ONE good game in central defence, and 20 odd utterly terrible ones, so why play him there?
Play players in their positions, and thats half the problem sorted, why make life hard for yourself?
 
I don't know why he plays Park in games like this. Everyone knows his use is in the big games as a destructive force. He's distinctly average when you ask him to be an attacking winger. And ffs Fergie give Tosic a chance! He's one of the few attacking wingers we have.

watched him in the reserves on monday against bolton, looked very sharp.

Anderson
Giggs
Fletcher
Park
O' Shea

Not a great line up if you ask me.
 
Giggs has been probably the best today, Ando has been ok in an unfamiliar position, O'shea is fine. Fletcher isn't playing but has been good last season. Park has his uses, this just isn't it.
 
Liverpool 2-0 Stoke HT.

Much better performance from us although it was obvious from the first whistle Stoke were playing for the 0-0 and now they're losing they don't know what to do.

Johnson has been fantastic and has looked a real threat down the right. I expect him to do far better against teams that park the bus than Arbeloa did. Probably one of the reasons we bought him. Whether he'll do as well against the better attacking teams only time will tell.

Expecting more goals in the second half.

Only minor negative is Ayala; he's done ok in overall but a few times he's looked a bit edgy and given away needless throws in and around the box when he could have let it run through to Reina. As well as Johnson, Masch has had a decent half, much better than on Sunday.

Team generally look much fitter and sharper. Got to wonder why Rafa didn't give them more time during pre season.
 
Woop our game is going good! Can see Torres scoring in second half making a double for him its a good watch :D

Can i also ask something why is it last few penalties UTD have had a Striker hasn't taken them? Surely Rooney would be best option for you or is it just he dislikes taking them.
