Midweek Football Thread - 18th/19th

Well good game for us tonight, Really impressed by johnson i just hope this way of play carrys on for us.

And Well i did expect UTD to breeze burnley so was a shocked by that result. Ill enjoy taking mick out of all the UTD supporters at work like they did to me when we lost to spurs =/

We really do need to spend. Didn't help that no-one turned up tonight (Although Giggs was ok) but still, something major is missing (and don't say Ronaldo)

Thats a good question.

There was a large portion who thought when Liverpool lost at the weekend that Alonso being gone was largely to blame.

Whats the opinions tonight about the Utd result, were Utd just poor, were Burnley just very good, was it down to Ronaldo being gone (not just his goals but his general "oh christ its ronaldo running at me effect") ?

lol @ Man U fans. Far more "pathetic" than the teams performance tonight. Get a grip.

Given the resources Manchester united have, would you if you were a manager, have those players in your side?

How would you set your team out to play against a busy competent footballing side who are playing the biggest game of their lives and are going to put their life and soul into every challenge?

A team thats already shown if you pay them no respect they WILL hurt you.

Like Ferguson did tonight?

Or.......... a different way?

God, that performance was crap. It was on par with the Fulham performance last season.

Giggs and Evra were the only players trying to make things happen going forward. Valencia really done my head in, taking too many touches. I really dont know what happened to Carrick in the 2nd half. I actually thought, I missed something and he was taken off.

I would have kept Owen on tbh and took Park off for Berbatov.

Why's it pathetic

It was an awful awful predictable performance from what I saw. Taking nothing away from Burnley as they deserved their 3 points without any question. Our performance is worthy of criticism

Read the thread.

"Fergie's senile", "Pathetic performance", "Terrible squad", "Winning nothing".

Stoke lot outsinging the Kop at Anfield whilst 3-0 down. Thought there was supposed to be some passion down there? :p

(edit; 4-0)

Burnley weren't great, defence was good and goalie played very well but they hardly created chances, just scored one stunning strike then sat back for most of the game. Then we didn't have the players on the field to break them down, ineffective out wide and lacking the killer pass down the middle. Valencia should have started. If Nani is truely injured then Fergie was ******* stupid to take our other dangerous winger out of the lineup as well.
