Pretty easy win for Leeds last night despite it being on 1-0. First half we were pretty bad but we stepped up a gear in the second half and Darlo could rarely get in our half.

Still, the team is getting to grips with new season and Grella did well. Showumni is pretty awful tbh and a man his size didn't cause enough problems for the Darlo defence. A bit worrying as he's our main backup to Becksio.

I think it's a marvel that he's managed to get boots on and get out there again, but he's not good enough. You're right about Grella, he looked very alert and mobile. Willing runner. Reminded me a bit of how Healy used to play.

I thought Leeds were pretty poor last night considering the Quality they are supposed to have and the fact that our team is completely made up from players who were out of contract over the summer and a couple of youngsters on loan, and that we are widely expected to struggle this season.

Our defence held out very well, and considering the small amount of the ball we had then only to concede 1 goal against a much stronger side I thought it was a great performance. I would be much more encouraged as a Darlington fan than I would have been if I was a Leeds fan.

As a Leeds fan I think the fact that we had one first choice defender playing, one first choice midfielder (unless Doyle becomes one) until Kilkenny came on, and no first choice strikers we did OK. Let's face it, we deserved to win by 3 or 4 on balance of play, we just didn't have any killer instinct up front. Not surprising with Big Show playing.

We had the erm... *cough* pleasure of having Showumni on loan, two seasons ago ? All our strikers were injured and he was an "emergency" loan.

He's awful, for a big man, he's unable to head a ball, which in part is due to his complete lack of ability to jump / hold defenders off in the air.

He's alright running with the ball, can't do much else.

Can't believe he gets near the Leeds team, I didn't think you were that bad :p

wouldn't go as far to say you'll struggle, you have a good side.

:D:D:D:D:D just kept giggling when i saw the score, honestly couldn't believe it.

I bet we are mid table, or just above. And our side isn't as good as it sounds, when you find most of it are bloody cripples!

After what i saw of showunmi last season admitedly he does seem a lot more up for it this season, he's trying harder, though still failing.

I reckon when becchio and beckford aren't playing he should play robinson in snodgrass position and push snodgrass up front, as there both good wingers but snodgrass can certainly hit the ball
