Might be getting a 350D tomorrow

Well...my Dad might be which = me

We were in a well known camera shop earlier, and they are doing a special deal

£651 for a

350D with a Standard Lense (think it was 17 - 55)
70 - 300 Canon Lense
Standard Flash
1gb Memory Card

and a few other goodies.

And Dad is really considering buying it, the fact he said to me "what time are we going back tomorrow" says to me - he wants it.

I'm hoping and praying he gets it, he will only use it on holidays and stuff. Whereas i'll go out taking pictures reguarly. Hoping to get good at it in the mean time.

Now the reason why i'm posting is because i want to know what the bad points of this camera are.

We both held it and like the feel of it. Wanted to know people who have one, or have used one the good points and the bad points.

What's the exact 70-300 lens???
The cheapest one the shop you're on about sell is 400 odd quid.
Also, you'll wanna edit out the name.

Seems a bit much.

Personally I dont like the 350D, its too small, the LCD is tiny and I find it a little fiddly. The 18 - 55 mm kit lens is pretty awfull too. If you really want Canon then I would consider the Sigma 18 - 55mm instead. Better build quality and picture quality.

To be fair, if you are only going to be using for holidays and walk abouts then a high end compact like the Fuji 9500 which comes with a 18 - 300mm would be more than enough saving you over £300 in the process.
