Might be time to upgrade the laptop

I've got a laptop from a specialist competitor that I bought in 2013 or so. It has a 3.4GHz i7-3740QM, 8GB of RAM and a Nvidia 650M on a 720p screen. It's served me well over the years and tbh the CPU is still fine on Windows 10 general browsing (I think I probably over-specced this at the time).

Anyway the peripheral stuff on the laptop is now pretty crap - the WiFi range is poor and slow, the screen Res is annoying the battery doesn't hold a charge and the few games I play on it make the laptop so hot and loud I disabled turbo boost so it doesn't catch fire.

So please can you recommend me a laptop for £1,100 or so? Ideally 14" but if needed 15.6", with a 3060 and 16GB of RAM. I see that there are a few brands and specs at this price range with last gen i7s or AMD 5600/5800 but all with 512GB storage, id like this to be upgradable and not soldered.

There are few 14" laptops with discrete GPUs - I could only see one with a GTX 3060 on OcUK's web site - so you're effectively looking at 15.6". The one we've been buying in this forum this year is the Lenovo Legion 5p which has an excellent 16" QHD screen, probably better now to go for the Legion 7. But it will cost more like £1500 than £1100. Storage is easily upgradable as is the RAM (once you've got the back off!) and the 5p has room for two M.2 SSDs.
