Hi there,

Might have the chance to upgrade my current mobo (Asus P5B) to something that is no more than £90.

Cheaper is better but will pay upto the £90.

Not really sure what make to go for but have been very happy with Asus thus far so was thinking about the P5K Combo. Is there a better mobo for the price and is the P35 chipset the way for me to go with my price range?

Only things I'm not sure about are:

I have an IDE DVD drive and apparently the IDE slot is in a stupid place... Will it reach from bottom to top?

I also have a PS/2 mouse so wondering if there is a PS/2 to USB adapter I could get as I don't fancy getting a mouse...

Unless someone can spec me a cheap good mouse... pref cordless... don't mind spending a bit more if it's a combo as long as it's a nice combo... no more than 330-£35 for a mouse by itself and £50 for a combo.

Basicly can the above problems be sorted and would I get the same O/C on my E6600 as I do with my current board?

Also, would a E2180 O/C ok on the Asus P5B?

Cheers in advance, Doug.

Why do you want to upgrade the mobo? Is it for better features? Better overclock etc. . .

And ive never seen a mobo without ps/2 ports. Yet. No doubt someone will be round shortly to say the xxxx-xxx doesnt have them.

Hi, cheers for replying.

Basicly my bro is upgrading and it's cheaper for him to buy my mobo off me and for me to then put up another £35-£40 and get another mobo for myself.

I think im set on the Asus P5K but don't know what the difference is between the P5KC Combo and the P5K Pro?

Cheers in advance, Doug.

P5K - good mobo
P5KC - DDR2 & DDR3 (commonly known as DDR£ as it is sooo expensive)
P5K Pro - RAID.

Not a lot in it, pick whichever you prefer. I went for the P5K for a build I am doing.
