Hi

I have just tried to backwards flash my Asus P5N-E motherboard to bios 0608 to aid with overclocking.

The dos utility seemed to complete and asked me to push F1 to restart. I did this and now all I get is the fans starting up on boot and one long continous beep which goes on for 10-15 secs, stops and then start again. Nothing appears on my screen.

I have tried clearing the CMOS by using the jumper method.

Any other ideas appreciated.

Cheers

Managed to get into windows with 2 sticks of RAm (now tells me I need to reactivate windows, but that's another issue).

However when I put 4 sticks in I no longer get the beep sound it just freezes as the bios picture load screen.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I upped the DRAM voltage to 2.2v (next step option is over 2.3v so I daren't go that high) with no luck. I also put the NB voltage to the step which was just over 1.5v at the same time, also with no luck.

It still hangs on the bios load screen.

Running out of ideas here, other than my MB is broken....

the p5n-e used to have a memory hole using 4 sticks on early bios, cant remeber which bios fixed this, but when i had this mb, i had to overclock my ram slightly (830 mhz) to get it to boot using 4 sticks, hope this helps, or browse though the 150 page thread on the p5n-e on this forum :)
