I've just installed my Inno3D 780 card yesterday (virtually the same as a Titan, if not better in some instances) for my setup, however, just today upgraded to 2560x1440 monitor, due to arrive tomorrow.

As quite the gaming fan, hating visual lag/stutter/delays, do you believe that i'll likely need to change card to a 7990 (or somehow fit in another 780) for more graphical horsepower at this resolution to keep it above 60FPS?

Why not give it a try out and upgrade only if you feel it is neccessary?

You certainly won't be maxing games out at 1440p on a single 780 and maintaining 60FPS constant. Near max settings and 60fps the majority of the time should be do-able (think High AA in Sleeping dogs not Extreme AA as an example).

I have 780 sli and testing with one card Metro LL with everything maxxed out gives me around 45fps @ 1440p. With sli on I get around 110fps.

Other games I play atm,
WoW average outside 120fps inside 350 to 400fps,
Warframe 200fps,
BL2 240fps.

144% scaling?

I'm glad someone said it. :D

I've fallen foul of this. Check your settings.

I though i was getting over 100% scaling in Sleeping Dogs/Tomb Raider. Luckily i realised before i posted it, though i did claim it to Rusty annoyingly before he picked me up on it. :D Turns out i had a setting wrong and i was actually getting 99% and 98.9% scaling. See my post here.

Settings are exactly the same in all games, I didn't realise that after a driver update it auto disables sli for some reason. Turned it back on and that's what precision was stating.

Granted I always take fps readings with a pinch of salt.

Depends on the games you play and the settings. I had no issues with BF3, Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2 on a single 780. I only got a second because I had an itch.

Company of Heroes 2 (although it doesn't support multi-GPU at the moment?)
BF4 (eventually)
Planetside2
Assassin Creed 3+
Batman City+
Dead Island 2
Dawn of War 2
