I bought an Apple Mighty Mouse back in December when they were on offer. I keep having the problem where it wont scroll. I have tried and tried the cleaning thing and it just doesnt work. I have even had Apple send me a new Mighty Mouse. What more can I do this latest one is only 2 months old and its gone again I don't understand why Apple is still selling this crap. Just fix it already.

Any way does any one have any tips or suggestions become I call Apple for a refund on it. I have a wire and wireless one and nether work properly. I am back to using my Logitech MX900 now.
 
I was just reading a review about the mouse yesterday.

"Someone mentioned that the scroll ball suddenly stopped scrolling up and down after three months. It happened to me, and I found the answer on the support pages on the apple website. Rotating the ball in all directions when holding the mouse upside down will clean the mechanism and restore the mouse's scrolling capabilities."

EDIT: If that was the cleaning thing you tried, ignore.
 
Yeah I tried that and occasionally it works some times like now its worse because it wont scroll at all. I really wish Apple would do some thing about it I want a nice wireless mouse with 2 buttons and a scroll wheel. I don't want fancy 4 button crap just a working 2 button scroll ball bluetooth mouse.

Just spoke to apple again! This time the person I spoke to seemed to care, He told me to take a clean sheet of paper place the ball downward on to the paper and move in circular motions, one direction test it then alternate, until dirt is freed, which it is now. I wouldnt reuse the paper again but I am impressed with how easy that was! Shame its not on Apple's website.
 
I liked the Mighty mouse, but the scroll wheel went "loose" after a while so I chucked it.

...literally, against a wall, BOOM!

Found a way to get that working too :) Lick your finger, put it on the ball and rotate in a circular motion, works every time :) Bit minging though, will try the paper next time! :)

I know but I though perhaps I might trigger an early implosion some how if I sounded like him. Just so every one realises EVH will not be on the forums beyond tomorrow because he will implode when he hears Steve jobs say boom.

Yeah deffinatly try out the paper thing its cool to see all the crap coming out, and it really makes a difference, do it for about 5 minutes and its clean.
