Morning all,

I have recently migrated several user accounts from our old NT4 domain over to the Win2000 Active Directory. The problem I have is that these migrated users now cannot change their password from their machine.

The message they get is "The password on this account cannot be changed at this time."

Their AD profile does NOT have 'User cannot change password' selected, and I'm not aware of any minimum password usage time in effect on the group policy.

The only thing I can think is that the profile hasn't migrated correctly into AD, but I'd appreciate any other suggestions if you have any.

Thanks!

I saw the same thing with a few accounts when we moved from NT to 2K3. I didn't find out what caused it, but manually changing their password in the AD Users & Computers tool fixed it - after I did that they could change their password themselves.

At my previous job, we found that occured occasionally, and as the previous posted correctly pointed out changing the user's password through AD Users and Computers fixes the issue,

Pax
