I've been a long time satisfied customer with Nildram but since it was taken over the service has steadily degraded to a point now where the router loses connectivity 20+ times a day. I would like to find out if this is a problem on my end (which I very much doubt, as a friend down the road has been explaining a very similar problem to me on Nildram too  ).

Is there any way to test my router (Xyxel Prestige 600 series) which was supplied by Nildram when about one and a half years ago.

I am also considering migrating and was wondering who would be a good choice for a gaming network!

Thanks I'll have a look at getting a new router, I've been lookign for a good excuse to upgrade the network I have here hehe.

What do you recommend?

I currently have the router mentioned and a basic Netgear 8 port switch

Really take a look at all other options before you point your finger at Nildram - dispite the fact they are now owned by Pipex they are still one of the better ISP's out there.

If you read my post correctly you would realise that I am not "pointing the finger" at Nildram. I am asking for suggestions as to how I can find out if it is my equiptment or some other factor that is causing the degredation of my service.
